Welcome to peer product support, which has no charge. You're probably
directed here because you have no paid form of support -- if you believe
that is in error or you have a bug to report, please contact MS Product
Support Services again.
I'm pretty certain that the IIS6 Manager snapin for XP installs correctly on
XP and XPSPs since we tested it that way. If you have any additional
details to your system configuration, please feel free to report them to see
if anyone else has had the same experience.

My guess is that something is wrong with the installer system on your
machine which prevents the right files from being available to the IIS
Manager installer. Failure to read setup files may be due to corrupted
download, corrupted installer system (such that the file is missing, for
example). That situation isn't a product bug because, for example -- you
can turn off the power to the computer and claim "I can't install your
software" -- but the failure there is due to user configuration and not the
software itself.

When I try to run set-up of the IIS 6 manager I get the following pop-up:
Error reading set-up initialization file.
I am running IIS 5.1 on XP and want to remotely connect ot my IIS 6 on W2K3
Server.
I called MS Product support who directed me here!
Has anyone else tried to download and install this tool recently??
Thanks,
