I seem not to be able to get the IIS working. It seems like it is installed, but since I am a novice at it I do not know how to test it. HTTP://localhost gives me an error as follows

"Server Application Error
The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance."

What log Bill Gates, please???

If anyone can help me figure this out... please. TIA.

The Event Log is accessible in a variety of ways - for instance, right click
on My Computer and choose Manage, and then you'll see the Computer
Management MMC. Expand the Event Viewer node on the left, and you will see
the various event logs - check the Application and System ones for messages
from IIS. It's probably going to be a permissions issue.

The event log, as described by the error message.

You can find this log by typing eventvwr.msc in the Run dialog box (on the
Start menu).
