Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

I tried the install on my WinXP Pro PC logged in as an admin. I started
with Add/Remove Programs | Add/Remove Windows Components | selected IIS
| clicked Next | request for "Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 CD"
| Some files on Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 CD are needed |
Click browse and the file it is looking for is "infocomm.dll".

I've already installed SP1 on WinXP Pro. So what do I need to do to
install IIS?

TIA!

Regards,

Greg Strong

Give it what it wants--either SP1 on CD, or download the full network
install and unpack it and point it there. It'll be there.

Hi,

Sounds like you installed Windows XP with SP1 integrated. When you install
IIS, it will need some files on this CD (the installation CD), and that is
the CD you should give it.

It is not the SP1 CD (with only SP1), but the one you used for installing
Windows XP.
