Hi,

As the owner of BanPro NET Web Services, which specializes in small
and home based business clients I'm always looking for ways that we can
improve upon our service. Over the years we have added and tweaked our
offerings based on the needs and desires of our existing clients, but
what I'm hoping to receive here are some fresh ideas from small or home
business owners who aren't connected with us in any way as to what
was/is most valuable to you in selecting a service to host your
business website(s).

Price?
Quality of service?
Quality of support?
Provider's Industry reputation?
A friend's recommendation?
Additional and 3rd party software included?

I appreciate anyone taking the time to privately or publicly respond
to this request. It will help me greatly in evaluating our business
model as we enter our sixth year of operations.

Thank you,
Scott Bannon

Good morning Scott

It is a great thing that you want to do right by your customers and
evolve.
That is why you are still in business after 6 years

All of the things you mention are important and invaluable to making
the choice to choose you and most people will choose 1 or all of the
suggestions you offer because they are important to them

 >From an outsiders perspective I always like to see more information on
a website before I choose a product or service.

What do I mean. And this goes for any type of business not just
selecting a webhost.

In your case, examples of websites you have done to illustrate what is
on offer would keep me really interested. A portfolio will show you
off.

I would also play up about the fact that you specialise in business for
the reseller.
I have never seen that before and that could be , in my humble opinion
a real strength.
I would also play up your education side for kids, that is something I
have'nt seen much of either

I would love to see a photograph of you on your site it means I can see
you are a real person

Maybe do a comparison chart of your services against the local
competition, to illustrate your competitive price.

I think your other areas about V drives, your FAQ, URL masking etc and
the forum are terrific.

So in order to answer your question, what would make me choose a host
for my website,

It is all of the above that you stated plus the extra points raised.

A different industry, but to illustrate the point, one of my favourite
sites is

greatfxbusinesscards.com (sorry not sure how to make a direct link
here)

They don't just sell business cards, they educate their customer as
well.

Scott I hope that is an aswer to your question, it is a very personal
one from me, and I hope you get the responses you are looking for.
Best Wishes

Jacki Smith

Hello Jacki,

Thank you so very much for your reply. I received many from my request
posts on groups like this one and appreciate all of them greatly.

We have (and will continue to) taken much of what you and others
offered into account over the past days as we decided which areas to
focus on in marketing, and which to improve upon internally.

Again, thank you very much for your time and suggestions.

Thank you,
Scott Bannon
