Information Sharing Application

May I rephrase I question that I may or may not have asked earlier?

I am in need of a web based collaboration tool where individuals would be
able to log-in to the site, track the progress of individual projects and
enter notes as the projects evolve.

Would anyone happen to know of any off-the-shelf products that would make
this an easy implementation?

I know of an organization using TWiki for this purpose. One
participant says it works extrmely well.

I don't know if that'a majority opinion there or a minority one.
