Hi
I'm looking for an online resource and/or book that explains in detail
the technical aspects of building an ECOMMERCE website.
I already have a business plan + HTML knowledge. I just want the
details of how to accept payments and provide authenticated access to
particular documents for those (and ONLY those) that have paid for
those documents.
EG
verification of payment allows access to resource for a single
download
OR
verification of payment allows access to resource for a fixed
period, eg 48 hrs.
Any recommendations? >> Stay informed about: Implementing an ecommerce site |

Hi,
I don't know of a book with technical details about how to do what you want
to do, but I know an e-commerce shopping cart that can do what you want. You
can use the basic MIVA Merchant shopping cart and add several modules that
will allow downloading of paid for items during a certain period.
MIVA Merchant
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.MIAV.com" target="_blank">http://www.MIAV.com</a>
Modules

Good luck,
Dave

I like paypal.com. It has a shopping cart that you can setup on your web
site.

Howdy,
Hit <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.authorizenet.com" target="_blank">http://www.authorizenet.com</a> and find their section on getting a shopping
cart certified. Then hit
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://usa.visa.com/media/business/cisp/ComplianceQuestionnaire.pdf" target="_blank">http://usa.visa.com/media/business/cisp/ComplianceQuestionnaire.pdf</a>
for a check list of concerns you need to cover.
>Any recommendations?
Hit <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.authorizenet.com/alliances/carts.php" target="_blank">http://www.authorizenet.com/alliances/carts.php</a> and click the "View the
Authorize.Net-Certified Shopping Carts List" link. Put one of the shopping
carts you like there to work and save yourself a bunch of grief. You'll
find my BIZyCart Ecommerce Server on the list.
