I have a default install of IIS7 to which I added the ASP role service. My
test asp page works but I don't see an ASP icon in the IIS Manager. Do I
need to add something else? I am surprised the page works straight away. I
thought I would have to enable it. Where do I have the control to set Script
or Script & Executables at the folder level?
Thanks

Ok I understand the Handler Mappings but I don't have an ASP icon in the IIS
Manager! All I have done apart from the default modules is tick ASP which
require the ISAPI as well. I have stopped and started, rebooted etc but no
icon has appeared. I know what it looks like and where it should be as I
have books etc.
Any ideas?

Yes the mapping is there but no icon. I have tried it again with a clean OS
install and default install of IIS7.
I added ASP through the role services and asp pages work but no Icon.
I did as you said, remove, requireing a reboot of the server and then
reinstall and the icon appears!
Is this a known issue? Any idea how to get it to appear without uninstalling
and rebooting the server?
Thanks

I get this with a new install. Once it is there it seems quite happy.
To reproduce you will need a clean install of svr08.
Then install IIS with default settings.
Then go back and add just the ASP role service.
I find that the module is installed but no icon.
Thanks
