I have installed IIS 5.1 on a Win XP Pro computer and for some reason it will
not serve .asp pages. It won't even serve the iisstart.asp page. However, it
will server .html pages. Is there a problem with IIS on Win XP Pro.

Thanks
Tony

Is it configured for script access? Are you running Norton's or other
script-blocking software?

Yes, I actually did check the scripts and it is checked off. I get this error
message a lot while checking properties. I think it is part of the major
problem. It is:

COM Surrogate has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience.

Never seen that error, though I suspect no amount of working in IIS
will fix it.
