Post subject: IIS not retaining ASP settings
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Situation NT5 SP6a IIS4, ASP script application.

When i choose the configuration for a virtual directory,
and choose application configuration, app options and
change the timeout setting for session and asp script
timeout to 30 minutes and 300 seconds these values are not
retained. The next time i go into these parameters they
are back to the default values of 20 minutes for session
timeout and 30 seconds for asp script timeout

We want to change this because we get 0113 errors in an
application. When i enable asp script debugging the
application works. When i do not enable script debugging
all we get is 0113 errors.

Any idea what i have to do to make the IIS keep the set
values instead of the default ?

Regards,

Hen

Make the configuration change
Stop the IISADMIN service successfully
Restart the W3SVC service

I think your application has bugs and is possibly crashing/hanging the
server, causing it to lose configuration.

Enabling ASP Script Debugging will only be a short term band-aid.

Sorry david,

I tried what you said. And it seems to work, but after 30
seconds the values are again back to it's defaults.

Hen
