Post subject: IIS 5 on Windows2000Server Using all the CPU
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

......I'm running a fully patched Windows 2000 Server with IIS 5 and
Frontpage 2002 extensions.

Recently the server will periodically go into a near CPU bound state just
after I try to save a file from FrontPage to the server, It will run like
this for 3-5 minutes and then return to normal. When i look at the
processes with the Task Manager, it shows INETINFO.exe with 50 to 90% of the
CPU.

Can someone enlighten me as to what is happening and why is has started
happening now. Note, this is a development server. When I publish to the
production server I have never noticed this situation.

Thanks in advance for any help or clues as to what is going on......RDK
