I'm a total IIS newbie, and I need help.
I'm trying to install IIS on WinXp Pro with SP1, but when I
try to install IIS, its looking for a file on the SP disc,
which I don't have. Is there a way to just download IIS?
I'm totally stumped as to why this isn't working. Thanks
in advance.

You will need a copy of the cd in order to complete the
installation - IIS 5.1 is not availablbe for download.

If you have a legal WinXP version, you have the right to have that CD. Ask
for it from your dealer. Otherwise, you'll have to get a legal copy...

Hi,

It's probably looking for the CD with Windows XP + SP1 integrated, and not a
CD with SP1 only.

You will need either:

a) a CD with SP1 slipstreamed into it, see:
www.bink.nu/bootcd for how to do this

-or-

b) You wil need your original CD *and* the Service Pack 1 files. During the
install, it will ask for some files that you can find on the original CD,
and some files from Service Pack 1. You will have to keep pointing the
installer to the correct location for each file.

Cheers
Ken
