using separate IP numbers is the easier solution, since then you don't have
to disable the http support in WMS 9.
I have several 2003 servers running, all with 4 or 5 different IP addresses.
they host WM9, Quicktime DArwin 5, Real Helix and HTTP, FTP and other stuff,
all co-exisiting pretty well (after we tamed the Helix servive to boot after
the WM9 services).
The more IPs, the better- you can split services later on much easier if you
start out that way. I did run IIS and WMS9 on the same IP once - all you
need to do then is edit the http control protocol in WMS and turn it off or
move it to a non-standard port.
