IIS Licensing

Hello,

thanks for the quick response. The authentication would be done by the web site using mysql not by windows 2003. Is that still considered basic or integrated authentication?

From my understanding if you are using a "home grown" authentication
method like an SQL database then you are fine since all connections are
basically Anonymous with your code controlling the access. If you ARE using
NT accounts on the server to control access then you need a CAL for each
user if the machine is built up as a "Per Seat" license. If you do plan on
using NT accounts to control access to your server then you are better off
to build the server up as a "Per Server" license.

No. If you are setting up users within SQL, and they are authenticating against a database, then you do not have to worry about windows CALs.
