Post subject: IIS DNS Error
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)
My client's website server allows access to the default
web page through a direct ip address but doesn't resolve
the DNS name. Example: Http://192.114.11.231/default.htm
works fine, but it's alias Http://www.client.com,
generates a "cannot find page" error.

Okay, then you have DNS problems, and you should ask in a DNS newsgroup if
you administrate the DNS server yourself. If you do not administrate the DNS
server, talk to those that do this, and they will fix your problem.

Configure the DNS, host headers and client correctly then. IIS works
fine, so you'll want to ask in a DNS group for the next step.
