IIS Admin property pages refuse to be displayed

Windows XP SP1

Using IIS Admin, I cannot display the properties of any web site or virtual
directory. Right-click, click on Properties, and nothing happens!

I have removed IIS, made sure the metabase.bin file is gone, re-installed
IIS, all to no avail.

This is very frustrating.

Any suggestions?

Hi Brian!

I would suggest the tools at <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.sysinternals.com" target="_blank">www.sysinternals.com</a> which allow you to view
which security was denied.
Another thing to check is obviously anti-virus software that might decide
that some operations are not allowed
