I have a free site on royalfreehost.com and I wanted to use some of the
images on another site - which is hosted on a pay site - by using hotlinking
(to reduce bandwidth, ok, I know it's naughty!)

It worked at first. After a few days it stopped working when I use IE 6
or Netscape, but it still works with Opera 7. This has me confused (yes I
flushed my buffers and it really is getting the images from the site)! The
same site already uses hotlinking to my ISP free webspace, and that works
fine.

The website that is trying to grab the images uses Apache 1.3.35 and
royalfreehost.com uses Apache 1.3.26. I can't see how the type of browser
would affect the ability to hotlink.

Does anyone have any idea what may be happening here?

David

"Web masters" know how to right rules into their configs to stop certain people
doing certain things.
