I use Slicehost, and am considering Linode.

Take a look at ServInt. I've never found a better value for the money
and have never been down (to my knowledge) for the 5 years I've been a
customer.

I am also with ServInt, and I love them, but I will toss in the usual
caveats here. ServInt has managed VPSs. If you need that, ServInt is the
way to go. If you don't need to have the VPS managed for you, you can
find cheaper alternatives that are reliable. For me, it is worth the
extra money for the managed server, and to know that tech support is
ready to do whatever I need them to do to keep the server running and
updated, though I rarely need to contact them.

I want to add to both our posts, ServInt's Tech Support is outstanding.
The two times I contacted them (once on Thanksgiving Day), they were
very knowledgeable and able to resolve the issue while I was still on
the phone.

It is well worth the extra $10-15/month over the competition to have the
server managed for you.

Depends; I am capable of doing the managing myself Wink. I have one
customer with a managed VPS and he's stuck with an outdated CentOS
installation.

BTW, a kind request, if you don't want spam, don't make up a domain
name, but use something like @invalid.invalid. A made up domain name
might belong to someone someday, how unlikely the name you picked.
