There are actually very few really bad web hosts.

Obviously there are the odd exceptions but most are pretty good most of the
time.
Web hosting is not rocket science and it is difficult to get it badly wrong
on a
regular basis.

We do 10MB of space free with every domain name.
which would let you put up a few pages and redirect your mail or receive it
via POP3
It makes it easy to move to something bigger later on as the address won't
change.

We can do expensive and bespoke corporate hosting (www.cyberstrider.net)
or economy hosting (www.cybes.net). You pick. Oh and we have been

As a customer of Nameroute, I'm happy to recommend them for the .co.uk and
web hosting. You can get a .com for under $9 (don't pay more!) and maybe
just "point" that to the .co.uk domain (use the .co.uk for all mail, but
I suggest using FormMail, rather than showing any mail address on site.

I can offer hosting and .com etc, but get yourself a .co.uk registered for
under 7 pounds with someone like ukreg.com or 123-reg.co.uk and you're

I've had good results registering with <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.easily.co.uk" target="_blank">www.easily.co.uk</a> (£9.99 for a
..co.uk 2 years). They're basic web hosting starts at £9.99pa. I
actually used Idealhosting (http://www.idealhosting.co.uk/) for my
hosting (£14.99pa). I've got no complaints about either of them.

Register the domain names with UK Reg.

As for hosting, go US or Canada, for price. Though some UK resellers
may be able to offer a very low traffic site at a sensible price.

Hi,

For domains 123 reg is pretty good for .uk but for .com you can get
cheaper in USA. I have found dotyou.com to be ok.

For hosting I suggest 34sp.com. It's by far the best value I have
found at GBP15 per year, 1G pm. And if you break 1G they just add up
the excesses and when that reaches 1G charge you another GBP 1.50
(AFAIR, was 2.50 but come down now, I think). Oh, and has loads of
features and VERY helpful staff.

Just came across this thread. I've been with <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.pay-as-you-host.com/" target="_blank">http://www.pay-as-you-host.com/</a> for over
three years now and have little to complain about. They have php, MySQL and phpMyAdmin
plus the usual reports.

They can register the name(s) for you - before I started registering with them I used
clicknames.net.
