Hi all, I'm a previous user of Apache HTTP Server and Tomcat. On a
different computer I was successfully able to:
- install Apache Http Server and set up a series of web pages
- install Tomcat and make use of servlets and JSP's (JSP's are
compiled directly into servlets)
I am just about to install both Apache HTTP server and Tomcat on this
computer. However, I was never able to integrate Tomcat and Apache
HTTP server on the previous computer****. In this case and on the
previous computer, I am and was using Windows. Therefore, I suppose I
will have to make use of some version of:
mod_jk.dll.
Anyway, at one point I actually mananged to find this GREAT webpage
that contained integration information on Tomcat and Apache HTTP
server. It was a complete step-by-step and it had a different section
for each different version of Apache HTTP server and Tomcat.
Here is the website:
http://www.galatea.com/flashguides/index
But here is another one that looks promising:
http://www.jguru.com/faq/view.jsp?EID=853905
My two questions are:
1. Why doesn't the latest version of Apache HTTP server (Apache
2.0.4

support SSL? Or is it just the binary they provide - the MSI
installer that doesn't support it?
2. Are there versions of Apache HTTP server that cannot properly
integrate with certain versions of Tomcat? More specifically, what
version of Tomcat should I get for Apache 2.0.48 (since according to
the apache website this is the best available version)?
Thanks,
Novice
