Post subject: HTR-2-ASP not working

Our organization has applied the IIS lockdown tool to our IIS5/Win2K servers, but we are experiencing a very odd issue. The HTR-2-ASP tool when attempting to apply, comes up with an error that ism.dll is not mapped to .hta pages, and fails.

I have set up a virtual web to serve up the \iisadmpwd directory and SSL is enabled. I have also attempted to manually extract the files from ism2asp.exe, copy to the \iisadmpwd directory, and manually register iispwdchg.dll, rebooted the server with no success.

I have run out of ideas to pursuit.

Repaired. had to remap htr files to asp.dll in IIS.

Just an FYI

In Windows 2000 service Pack 4 the application mapping was changed from the
ISM.DLL to the ASP.DLL for HTR's.
