Post subject: HELP PLEASE -- files not showing up
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

I have a testing server that's running Windows 2003
Server (Standard) IIS 6.0. If I type my website in my
url in our network like http://www3.website.com the
files showup. I can browse to all the files except one
group. If I click on
http://www3.website.com/support/support.html I am throw
an http: 404 file not found error. However when I go the
the inetpup/website/support folder they are there. I can
open double click and open them no problem.

I've checked the properties and they are not hidden. All
properties match all the other folders which are
viewable. The files are only html.

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Jody

Additional information...

If I go into IIS and go to the website my Support folder
no longer shows up there. How do I get it re-added?

I haven't changed any permissions. The users permitted to
the folder are the same as all other folders in the
website...

Check IIS log file, look at status / sub-status code.

Is it actually there in the data structure? Recheck permissions on
the folder using Windows Explorer, make sure it inherits permission s
from above.

Yes, it's physically there. I can browse to it. Under
Properties, Security, Advanced, "Allow inheritable
permissions from the parent to propigate..." is checked.

Does the folder inherit permissions?

And you are sure that inetpub/website/ is the root of the website? You have
not moved it, but have a quite similar looking folder structure at the new
place?
