Anyone run across a good, solid explanation of the value of each as opposed
to the other.

A lot of info on the net, but can't seem to find a point by point
explanation from a solid, reliable source.

Try Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Free_Documentation_License

I suggest Wikipedia specifically because it began with its wikitext
under GFDL, but since Dec 2007 there's a move to migrate it to the
similar but distinct CC-BY-SA. If you read around on he metawiki
stuff, there's useful discussion of the issues between them.

re-reading that link, it's sadly partial to a level I'd probably
describe as "misleading bollocks" if anyone else had posted it. To see
what's missing, make sure you read at least the first of the following
two links (Time spent reading Lessig is never wasted).

1. ↑ Some important news from Wikipedia to understand clearly.
Lawrence Lessig (December 1, 2007 5:10 PM).
<http://lessig.org/blog/2007/12/some_important_news_from_wikip.html>

2. ↑ Resolution:License update. Wikimedia Foundation (December 1,
2007.).

Wikipedia is great.

Wikimedia has "issues". Like Jonestown did.

Welcome to Wikipedia!

As we say in Britain....."Nice legs, shame about the face!"

In this specific case *you* can change the face and make it beautiful.

Thanks for the links and the thoughts. It will all help resolve some
issues on this end.

Again, thanks...the help is appreciated.
