GD library on redhat 9

I get this errormsg "undeclared function" using the php function
imagecreatefromjpeg() on a plesk 6 server after redhat has been upgraded
from 7 to 9 and php from 4.2 to 4.3.

The server has some vhost security settings which might make a difference.

Do anyone know the correct path to the GD library on red hat 9

Or is there another simple fix?
