Hackers that turn forms into spam relays should be caught and drawn and
quartered. For us non-programmers that just occassionally use a form on a
website here and there and move on and forget them, wouldn't this be a good
place to employ the Microsoft army to cover our backs? Microsoft together
with the isp that offers the MS server have a vested interest in protecting
forms from spam relay attacks and I assume they are monitoring this minute
by minute. Come to think of it, I have never had that type of attack coming
from any Front Page form, but I have been compromised on other scripts.
What do you think?
BG
P.S. I wouldn't create the website with FP, just set up the extensions and
use the form functionality. >> Stay informed about: Front Page for forms solution? |

There is no question to which the solution is M$oft FrontPage.
There are a few questions to which it's the answer, but they're not
generally printable. >> Stay informed about: Front Page for forms solution? |

I understand your wrath toward M$, but the reality is that they have
hundreds or thousands of people employed to protect their security. I get
security patches almost constantly from M$, but I've never gotten the first
one from the little Australian software developer that created my CGI
scripting program. They could care less - they already have my money. With
FP and the ISP host, if their script becomes compromised the financial
damages could be quite severe for their interests which are so much greater
than mine. So by marrying my interests with theirs I can feel so much safer
than trying to write my own script or use any individual's software
solution. Thanks for the comment.

That should tell you *something*.

...and so should that. Something like those hundreds or thousands of
employees aren't doing it right the first time.

Butler: <annoyed> This gas line was installed *backwards* yesterday.
Please fix it!

No. I haven't used Unix since about 1988.

(mental note to self - never provide a yes / no out to an information
gathering question) My potential son-in-law got us laughing at dinner last
night, talking about how teachers, trying to ascertain whether a student is
listening or not, will invariably say something like; "Have you heard a word
I've said? What did I just say?" He said he always responded with "say". >> Stay informed about: Front Page for forms solution? |

So do you want to rephrase? <g>
"So, just curious, what operating system do you use?"
Win2K and Kubuntu.
"Why Windows" is your next question? Because there is no Linux version
of Visual FoxPro, and I really like my newsreader which is also a
Windows-only application, and I haven't found a Linux reader I like.
