Post subject: Form responses do not write to database
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

I created a form in FrontPage 2002 that I could post on the Web so that users could answer a questionnaire and so that I could compile their responses into an Access database.

When I tested it the form seemed to work. I received a confirmation page with my answers. However, the data did not write into the database. I clicked form properties and created the database table there and let it save to the default fpdb folder.

My server runs NT 4.0 with SP6. It has IE 5, MDAC 2.5, asp ver. 4.02.0785, MMC Version 4.0 (Build 1381: SP6) Version 1.0 Release, and IIS 3.0 (I think -- cannot find version on this). I have FrontPage 2002 installed on server, but do not have Access installed on server.

Does anyone know why my information is not writing to the db?

Thanks.

Susan

Hi,

It is not working because either:
a) something is misconfigured
-and/or-
b) there is a problem with your code

However, since we have no idea what your code does, or how you have
configured your server, we can't really provide any specific troubleshooting
tips.

If would probably be best if you posted this to a Frontpage group, since
you'd probably need to tweak something in Frontpage or your FPSE to get this
working.

Cheers
Ken

Hello Susan,

This question would likely do better in a FrontPage newsgroup. My guess is
you'll have to add some sort of error handling to catch the problem
however. Without an error message, you'll have a hard time
troubleshooting.

Thank you,
