I have a website running on my development computer -- Win2K SP4 with
IIS5 -- that uses the FileSystemObject to open text files. It has worked
just fine up until a few days ago. Now when it tries to open a file using
the OpenTextFile method, the browser hangs.

The "live" website is working fine, but I have this problem with IIS5 on
Win2K and on IIS5.1 on XP. What causes the the OpenTextFile method not to
work?

Bob,
Norton Antivirus will cause problems like that if Enable Script
Blocking is enabled. Otherwise make sure the account the page is
running under has access to the files you are attempting to open.

Turn off 'Script Blocking' if you have Norton AV installed.
