FTP error 426

I have an FTP server set up through IIS ver 5.1 on Windows XP. It works
just fine from inside my network, and works fine outside my Linksys
router IF it is accessed through a command prompt. (anonymous access
only)

However, when you try to connect to it outside my network using IE or
Firefox it fails with "Error 426 Connection closed; transfer aborted."

Can anyone tell me why and/or how to fix it?

The problem was that the clients were using Passive mode - there is an
option in IE to turn off passive mode for FTP:
tools->internet options->advanced
uncheck the box that says "use passive ftp"

Had everyone change that and it works great. If anyone knows where that
option is in Firefox let me know.
