Alright, I am setting up a site using dyndns.org

* The server is running Win Server 2003
* My router is a Linksys BEFSX41
* The server is in the router's DMZ
* I am NOT using DHCP, all PCs are staticly assigned in
the OS
* The router port forwards port 80 to the server(TCP only)
* I can access localhost from the server and see the web
page
* I can access the page from other PCs on the lan through
the ip addy or machine name
* tracert resolves the DNS correctly, but timesout on the
last hop
* My DSL ISP is SBC, I am 99.9% sure that they do NOT
filter 80 because web based port scanners show it to be
open

Am I missing something?

Thanks for any help.

Does the website work? <g>
Are you trying to access it from the outside, or your public domain name/IP
internally? Your router may not support loopback

trying to access from inside. Don't know if router
supports loopback. If you check the other reply, I left
the domain name. Which SHOULD currently resolve to:
64.218.84.87

However, it does take 15 minutes to propagate through
dyndns.org's system according to them.

If you are running a server with a dynamic IP, you will need to have a
program such as: NOIP or DNS services.
Here is a link to each: <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.no-ip.com/" target="_blank">http://www.no-ip.com/</a> &
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.ipupdater.com/index.php" target="_blank">http://www.ipupdater.com/index.php</a> I believe you can have a free account
with either of these sites if the site you are pointing to is personal.

So, what's the problem? I go to that address and I see a bunch of "test"
text

Cheers

Hey, thanks!

Thats exactly what I wanted to here.

I sound pretty stupid right now, but what that means is=20
that my router just doesn't support loopback since I was=20
unable to test outside the LAN.=20
