Does anyone know where the configuration data for IIS is
stored and if it is possible to modify it without using the
MMC? I am trying to develop a PHP installer that
automatically does anything but I am having trouble finding
out how to modify the IIS config.

Thanks,
Nick

Assuming you're talking about IIS 5, it's stored in a binary format in a
file called metabase.bin located in \winnt\system32\inetsrv. It can be
modified with MetaEdit or with ADSI scripting.

IIS6 is very different. Everything is stored as XML now in MetaBase.xml.
