Post subject: Checking if IIS using 443
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

I am trying to use Verisign to handle our Credit Card system, but their
software talks on Port 443.

We are going to run this on our Web Server (Windows 2003 Server) and I was
checking to see if IIS was using 443, can only seem to find 80 set up for
all the Web Sites. How would I tell if 443 was also being used?

If I telnet to 443 on the machine from my XP machine, it seems to have
something listening on it but the only response I get is the cursor moving.
It never does disconnect and the only way I can get it to disconnect is to
kill the Telnet window. The only thing I thought would be running on 443
would be SSL.

Anyone know if this is normal?

Thanks,

Tom
