Hello,
There is probably one application somewhere that is keeping its connection,
thus preventing your machine from disconnecting.
I would recommend you to post this into a newsgroup for Windows XP, in case
they know some known bugs about this. I would also include a list of
applications that is installed. You may also get some useful information by
running "netstat -a" to get a list of applications that has established a
connection.
