I have an ISAPI Dll runs fine under MsSharePointAppPool (IIS 6.0 & Windows 2003 server), but when I switched to DefaultAppPool, then the application will receive HTTP Error 500.

I just wonder why it happens like this?

When I look at other 2003 server, it doesn't have the MsSharePointAppPool available. Where does this Application Pool come from? Is it belong to FrontPage extension package?
