Hello all, may this message find you all well and flame-free Smile

Is there a way to get httpd to use the Jakarta protocol? The
university I work for has standardized on IIS (I have no say in the
matter) and I'm looking for a good way to get IIS to work as a reverse
proxy to our mainframe's httpd instance.

I've discovered the niceties of IIS and Tomcat playing together with
the ajp connector, and am curious if anyone's looked into a module for
Apache httpd that groks this protocol as well, so one may use the
Jakarta protocol in order to set up httpd as the benefactor of a
reverse proxy (and not the proxy itself).

I know this is a bit convoluted and I'm sure there's an easier (but
more costly) way to accomplish what I want (make IIS a reverse proxy),
but I thought I'd throw this one out to see what I could find.

Thanks in advance!

Josh Peters

Doesn't "mod_proxy_ajp" not do what you want?

I don't think so, but my understanding of mod_proxy_ajp is probably
not up to snuff as it were.

I am under the impression that mod_proxy_ajp is for making httpd act
as a front-end proxy to a AJP-enabled server somewhere else. If
mod_proxy_ajp also functions as a ajp client then I'm all good; I
should be able to connect my IIS box and httpd boxes together using
AJP.

Does anyone have a good example of how to set up httpd with
mod_proxy_ajp to work in this manner?
