IIS 6.0 and Anonymous Access

I have setup a website with anonymous access to work with SharePoint Portal.
I am not able to access the website using the url I set up for the anonymous
access website and I keep seeing the following error in my IIS logs: "Get
/default.aspx ........... 401 5 00" I know that this error is Denied by
Application but I can't figure out why? I have added my IUSR_machine name to
my SharePoint portal and I took the ISUR_machine out of the Guests Group and
added to the users--since guests group was disabled by a security policy that
was applied to my machine. I posted to the SharePoint portal group as well
but I think this might be a problem with IIS.
