Post subject: Alternative to Miva?
Archived from groups: alt>ecommerce (more info?)

We have an ecommerce site with around 80 products. We are running Miva
Merchant 4.20 along with Worldpay to process orders.

The plus side of Miva is:
Lost of 3rd party modules available.

The negative side of Miva and the reason we are looking at alternetives:
We regularly get "call back errors" where WorldPay fails to notify Miva that
it has successfully accepted a credit card payment so Miva assumes the Order
was not placed and and dumps the basket contents. As a result we have to
phone the customer to ask them what products they ordered!!

Can anyone, from experience, recommend an alternative solution to the
unreliable Miva/Worldpay combination?

We need an ecommerce product that will integrate with Google pay per click
and overture so we can easily report on how pay per click adverts are
performing.

Thanks,

Paul

Sorry I can't recommend any alternatives but I, too, am after an
alternative. Not for the Worldpay issue but unless we spend extra
money for modules, Miva is a pain in the neck to administrate "out of
the box". Every little task is daunting and you can't even add an item
to multiple categories within the administrative interface. You must
do so through a file import.

Can I ask you what modules you've purchased in your store? We've
already paid the money and countless hours investment learning so it
would probably be cheaper just to buy the modules than to change to
something else at this point. What to do?

Thanks in advance.
