Google's main income is still from search lisencing. Most people can get
listed by only paying 5c for adwords. Click through rate for text ads are
also down. Remember the crazy days of Banners, then Popups, now text ads are
gone into the toilet too. The most popular one is targeted Flash Ads,
something like google adsense by displaying flash ads.

I have done extensive financial research on google ad networks. Such as
entering "keywords" in google.com and "dictionary.com", set display units to
50. Unlike most people think, the most popular keywords do not have many
bids at all. Some are simply not more than 5. The reason for that is google
adwords have a policy for none performing ads. If you pay 5c and get listed
#1, and the click rate is 10%, you will still be disabled after the first
1000 showing, so it is better for 100 people to bid 5c each for 1 keyword
and rotationally be the #1 but on average #50 and still live well, then only
10 people bid $1 each then all get killed.

I bet when google goes IPO, they have to lie about the finacial numbers or
the following two years will not catch the inflated IPO finacial books.

Look at looksmart and other search networks, we can see they are losing
money too. Sometimes, CPC even for targeted ads are no longer making sense
for advertisers. Internet users are more inactive than over when seeing ads.

Some famouse text ads networks such as Metafilter or TextAds.biz, if you
track what is on there, you can tell there are not much going on on there
either. Not enough for 50% of a full time job.

You seem to have an unhealthy obsession...

: "dictionary.com

Considering the rampant mispellings I suggest you search
dictionary.com more often.

lying about finances is not a good thing in the USA right now...does Enron
or Martha Stewart ring a bell?

I kinda see this as a good thing... Most people are not willing to get into
bid wars anymore on keywords. Why? Because cheaters have ruined the PPC
arket.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

You are an idiot. Lying about financials will put them in jail.

Google has multiple revenue streams - adwords, adsense, selling search
technology, etc.

See google-ipo.com

Google's number must be sad. I am pretty sure. If you have done extensive
data mining on adsense and adwords, you will conclude the same thing.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Revenue is $700 million to $1 billion per annum. What's wrong with that?
