Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Hello,

I am having a problem where my computer is freezing when I run a ASP.net
project. It freezes in the debugger, or if I try to run it as localhost. I
cannot even access the windows Taskbar, or anything. I have to power off my
computer.

It is a brand new machine, XP Pro, VS.NET 2003.

Other Notes:
- I can access my pages from another machine, and it doesn't freeze.
- Debugging / running windows forms isn't a problem.
- I repaired my VS.NET installation as well, and still had the same problem.

How do I install IIS 6? Maybe this would help???

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Steven

Hi,

You can't install IIS6 on Windows XP Pro.

Are you saying that your computer freezes when you just try to browse the
ASP.NET pages (without even using the debugger)? Bring up Task Manager
before you browse the page, and then hit the page in your browser. What
process is consuming all the CPU?

Cheers
Ken

The CPU is at 1%. There is no activity, and soon after the task manger
freezes.

Please help.
