Here are a few things I'd check:
1. Do you have MS Office installed for the Access Database or using at least
Access?
2. In your IIS Manager go to the "Home Directory" tab Click the
"Configuration" button (2/3'rds of the way down) check to make sure that
".asp" is listed and should have a path name like this:
"C:\WINNT\System32\inetsrv\asp.dll"
3. When setting up a "New" site the option is given to you to "Run Scripts
(such as ASP)" be sure you checked this On.
4. Check and be sure you have the latest MS Jet dll installed, you can do
this by accessing MS Office website and check for Access updates (although
ASP should still work with existing dll if installed correctly).
5. If you have URLScan installed for the IIS server it must be configured in
the INI file to allow ASP to run. FYI: Go to:
C:\WINNT\system32\inetsrv\urlscan and open the "urlscan.ini" file with Note
pad and edit the ASP area, by default ASP is Not allowed, there are REMark
notes in the ini file explaining how to enable ASP.

Thank you Carroll for you time and effort
1- Not using MS-Access currently using MS-SQL 2000
sa login and password.
2- Run Scripts is checked when created the Virtual
Directory
3- ASP is part of the Configuration
C:\windows\System32\inetsrv\asp.dll"
4- Do not have the URLSCAN installed
What else could it be?
The asp page works fine under IIS5/ Windows 2000 Server.
But when I installed the Personal Web Inetpub IIS5 component from the XP
Windows CD to my XP Pro
Workstation does not work even all security issue have been applied to
IUSR_.
Any other thought.
TIA.

I think that URLScan is installed by default on Windows 2003... there's
where I'd have a look see.

Urlscan is not installed with Win2003. Win2003 has some Urlscan features

If you have a corrupted metabase, you restore it from a good copy, or
delete it and recreate the sites/info/etc. If you don't have a
corrupt metabase, then doing anything to it won't "make asp to work,"
